About
Hi There! The name is Lizzy, and I'm so glad that you stopped by the shop. I hope you like what you see, and come back soon to check out more items, or even submit some suggestions (i.e. charms, ornaments, wedding cake toppers).
Looking that the shop name, it's not exactly subtle that my Hounds: Myles, Daisy, and 🌈Baxter play a huge part in my creative process. I'll tell ya, those fur babies of mine are such loving, quirky, funny, emotional creatures; I can't help but be inspired by them. In addition to my loved ones, experiences, and other passions (e.g. gardening, baking, musical instruments - acoustic guitar and violin, hiking and traveling), it's the culmination of these that help to further fuel my creative spirit.
Furthermore, being that I frequently shuttle around with the pups and my projects in toe, Studios seemed to fit the store nicely. Also, I wanted a domain name that would serve as a connection point for my outlets, including stores and social media; a Central location for all things Basset Studios. That and after I opened my E*clears throat* shop in 2012 some pesky little trolls decided to hold the domain name hostage😅. Maybe one day I’ll be able to acquire it, but till then I like to think that I found a suitable workaround to stick it to ‘em while maintaining the consistency of the brand😉. Maybe not, yet here we are LOL.
Ok ok, a little background info on me, I'm a Health Psychology/ Neuroscience MS Grad from USP, as well as a Penn State Alumni, with BSs in Microbiology and Psychology. I’ve got to admit, that applying my lab experience to coming up with and executing my own soap, bath bomb, and bath salt recipes is so much fun. Even though researching various beneficial ingredients may sound daunting, I find it super interesting. My parents have a deep connection with ayurvedic medicine, and inevitably my Indian heritage comes into play as well. Yet, aside from my educational and cultural background, I find that working on sculptures, drawings, and paintings, not only help to serve as a constructive outlet, but as well as an opportunity to nurture that creative spirit.
Last but not least, as an individual with a love for animals, and a background in sciences, I do my best to stay green and present a finished commodity using minimal waste during production and packing. By using natural ingredients and additives, in addition to using recyclable/biodegradable materials for shipping I hope to be able to add to the ethical mission behind this store via the utilization of sustainable resources. BTW animal testing obviously a big no-no here! 😎💜🌏
I suppose that about covers it :). Once again, I'd like to thank you for stopping by, checking the merch, and reading the lengthy, probably rambling, story behind Basset Studios.
🙏🏾 Namaste!!! 🙏🏾
